This project showcases my exploration of Patrick Caulfield's style, producing images with flat colour, simple palettes, and outlined shapes.
Projects
This project is tailored for clients with an interest in 1960's painting. Making images in the 2020's is a completely different ballgame from making paintings in the 1960's.
Caulfield Inspired
Likeness to original Caulfields has to be there but it is hard to match his high quality techniques. I am more interested in transferring his style to contemporary interiors.
Hand-Made Approach
I am looking for "easy ways" to produce an image in Caulfield's style, so far have taken photos, traced photo, photocopied tracing, cut and stuck coloured paper. Still interested in hand made images in particular drawing.
Contemporary Interiors
Like how Ikea also uses simple line drawings to depict its products. Appropriation is a common process in art making.
